When we avenged the racist cartoon by NewYork Times :

Sometime back in September 2014 , our Mangalyaan aka Mars Orbiter successfully entered orbit around the red planet. In doing so, India became the first country in the world to enter the Martian orbit in its maiden attempt. And with that the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) became the fourth international space agency.

India's space mission cost around Rs 450 crore, or nearly $74 million, and cost roughly a tenth of NASA's Mars mission Maven spacecraft that also reached the planet's orbit a few days ahead of Mangalyaan. However, despite the 'low-cost' of India's space mission, there was constant criticism that India should just worry about fighting poverty and not waste money in trying to get into space.

So they put out this cartoon mocking the India Space Mission (That’s not nice !)

But, Guess what ? Karma always strikes back !

Few weeks later an unmanned US rocket Antares exploded during launch and Hindustan Times didn’t miss the opportunity to take revenge on the cartoon made by The New York Times. (It’s Payback time baby !)

కాటన్ దుస్తులు కళకళలాడాలంటే...!

వేసవి ఉగ్రత నుంచి కాపాడటమే కాక... కాటన్ మనకు అందాన్ని, హుందాతనాన్ని కూడా తెచ్చిపెడుతుంది. అయితే కాటన్‌కు అందాన్ని తెచ్చేది మాత్రం గంజి! నిజానికి మార్కెట్లో దొరికే గంజి పౌడర్ కంటే... ఇంట్లో చేసుకున్న గంజివల్ల బట్టలు మరింత అందంగా ఉంటాయంటారు వస్త్ర నిపుణులు. అంతేకాదు.. ఆరు రకాలుగా గంజిని తయారు చేసుకోవచ్చని కూడా చెబుతున్నారు. ఇవే ఆ ఆరు రకాలు...

 మొక్కజొన్న పిండిని చల్లని నీటిలో వేసి కలిపి బాగా మరిగించాలి. ఇందులో ముంచి ఆరబెడితే కాటన్ దుస్తులు చక్కగా ఫెళఫెళలాడతాయి.
 
బంగాళాదుంప ఆరోగ్యానికి ఎంత మంచిదో, కాటన్ దుస్తులకూ అంతే మంచిది. బంగాళాదుంపలను శుభ్రంగా కడిగి, నీటిలో వేసి ఉడికించాలి. ఆ నీటిని రాత్రంతా ఉంచి, ఉదయం లేచాక వడగట్టుకుని బట్టలకు పెట్టాలి.
 
అన్నం ఉడికించిన నీటిని తీసుకుని, అందులో కొద్దిగా నీళ్లు కలిపితే మంచి గంజి తయారవుతుంది. ఆరోగ్యాన్ని ఇనుమడింపజేసే కూరగాయలు, కాటన్ దుస్తుల అందాన్నీ ఇనుమడింపజేస్తాయి. పచ్చి కూరగాయల్ని శుభ్రంగా కడిగి, నీటిలో వేసి ఉడికించాలి. తర్వాత ఆ నీటిని వడపోసుకుని, అందులో బట్టల్ని ముంచి తీసి ఆరబెట్టాలి.

 చేమదుంపల్ని కెమికల్ ట్రీటెడ్ స్టార్చ్ తయారీలో ఉపయోగిస్తుంటారు. కాబట్టి దీనితో కూడా మనం గంజి చేసుకోవచ్చు. ముందుగా వీటిని చెక్కి, మెత్తగా రుబ్బి, కాసిన్ని నీళ్లుపోసి మరిగించాలి. తర్వాత దాన్ని వడగట్టి బట్టలకు పట్టించాలి.అన్నం ఉడికించిన నీళ్లు గంజిలా ఉపయోగపడినట్టే... గోధుమల్ని ఉడికించిన నీళ్లు కూడా గంజిలాగా ఉపయోగపడతాయి. కాబట్టి అలా ప్రయత్నించినా ఫర్వాలేదు.
 
గమనిక: ఏ గంజి అయినాగానీ... చల్లారిన తర్వాతే దుస్తులకు పెట్టాలి తప్ప వేడిగా ఉన్నప్పుడు పెట్టకూడదు.

From 1950 to 1959, two types of rupees existed in India

One time there were two currencies operating in India.... One as you all may know was the Indian National Rupee and the other was theHyderabadi Rupee.

The Government of Hyderabad had made several state led efforts to organize private bankers and local 'saukars' in the Dominion to set up a banking company which could issued paper money. But the Britishers resisted this idea. But in wake of the WW1, the British agreed and the first Hyderabadi Rupee (Paper currency that is) was issued in 1918. The currency was designated the Osmania Sicca (OS).

When the Indian Rupee was introduced in 1950, the OS were still in use, and the relationship of 7 Hyderabad rupees = 6 Indian rupees was used. In 1951, the issue of the Hyderabadi Rupee was ceased, but they weren't demonetized untill 1959. 

So, from 1950 to 1959, two types of rupees existed in India.

• రక్తం : వేడి నీటిలో జాడించి, కొన్ని చుక్కల అమోనియాను 10 సి.సి.ల హైడ్రోజన్ పెరాక్సైడ్‌తో కలిపి మరకల మీద పూసి ఉతకాలి.
• పెరుగు, వెన్న : ఒక చుక్క కార్బన్ టెట్రాక్లోరైడ్‌ని ఉపయోగించాలి.
• చాక్‌లేట్ : వేడి నీటిలో జాడించి ఉతకాలి.
• కాఫీ లేదా టీ : వస్త్రాలను ఆరనివ్వాలి. కార్బన్ టెట్రాక్లోరైడ్ ను పూసి మరకపోనట్లయితే కొద్దిగా హైడ్రోజన్ పెరాక్సైడ్‌ను కలిపిన వేడి నీటిలో ఉతకాలి.
• కాస్మెటిక్ : బార్ సబ్బుతో రుద్ది జాడించి ఉతకాలి.
• ఇంక్ లేదా లిప్‌స్టిక్ : మరకైన చోట పేపర్ టవల్‌ను ఉంచి వెనుక భాగాన డ్రైక్లీనింగ్ ద్రావణం లేదా ఆల్కహాల్‌ను పూయాలి. మరక తొలిగే వరకు నీటిని ఉపయోగించరాదు.
• గోళ్ళరంగు : అసిటోన్‌ను వాడాలి.
• క్రీం ( ఐస్ - పాలు ) : కార్బన్ టెట్రా క్లోరైడ్ పూసి వేడినీటిలో ఉతకాలి.
• గుడ్డు : చల్లని నీటితో తుడవాలి.
• పళ్ళరసాలు : ఆల్కలీ, ఆల్కహాలును సమభాగాల్లో తీసుకొని తుడుచి ఉతకాలి.
• గ్రీజు మరకలు : టాల్కం పౌడరును మరక మీద వేసి దాన్ని మరక కిందిభాగాన అంటేలా పేపరు టవలు మీద ఉంచి డ్రైక్లీనింగ్ ద్రావణంతో తుడవాలి. జాడించి ఉతికి ఇస్త్రీ చేయాలి.
• యంత్రం నూనె : మరకలను పీల్చేగుణమున్న పేపరుతో కప్పి రుద్దాలి. కార్బన్ టెట్రాక్లోరైడ్‌ను ఉపయోగించి మరకలను తొలగించాలి.
• మట్టి : వస్త్రాలను ఆరనిచ్చి కార్బన్ టెట్రాక్లోరైడ్ తో తుడిచి ఉతకాలి.
• రంగులు : వేడినీటితో జాడించి ఉతకాలి. మరక పోవాలంటే టర్పెంటైన్, కిరోసిన్ తో తుడిచి జాడించి ఉతకాలి.
• వార్నిష్ నూనె : కార్బన్ టెట్రాక్లోరైడ్ తో తుడవాలి.
• చెమట : తక్కువ ఘాడత కల హైడ్రాక్లోరిక్ ఆమ్లంలో జాడించి ఉతకాలి.
• బూట్ పాలిష్ : ఎక్కువ గల పాలిష్‌ను తొలగించాలి. ద్రావణ డిటర్జెంట్ తో రుద్ది తర్వాత ఆల్కహాల్ పూయాలి.
• వైన్ లేదా శీతల పానీయాలు : చల్లని నీటిలో జాడించి ద్రావణ డిటర్జెంట్ ను ఉపయోగించి వేడినీటితో ఉతకాలి.

So what’s special about these 3 temples ? These are 3 out of the 5 temples that are clubbed together and called as Pancha boota Stalam ( Denoting 5 forms of Shiva - Fire, Water, Earth, Air & Space )

Yes, they lie in the same longitude. i.e, Exactly 79deg 42 min East

So what’s special about these 3 temples ? These are 3 out of the 5 temples that are clubbed together and called as Pancha boota Stalam ( Denoting 5 forms of Shiva - Fire, Water, Earth, Air & Space )

Sri Kalahastheeswara - Vayu Lingam - AirEkambareshwarar - Prithivi Lingam - EarthThillai Nataraja - Aagaya Lingam - Space

One more interesting observation,

Are there any other temples that lie in a same longitude ? Yes, I found two of them.

Both are termed as the Punniya stalam ( Where they dip themselves in a waterbody to wash away their sins )

How did the architects designed the straightness of these temple gopuras that are more than 1000 years old and 500–600 Kms away ?

What technology did they have to mark the longitudes ?

Did they have a mapping system ?

Why didn’t the temples deviate from the alignment, during any natural events like the tectonic plate shifting or the Tsunami ?

What is the significance behind all this ?

పట్టు చీరలు ఉతికేటప్పుడు తీసుకోవలసిన జాగ్రత్తలు..!

• పట్టుచీరలను మృదుజలంతో ఉతకాలి. కఠిన జలమైతే నీటిని మృదువు చేయడానికి చిటికెడు బోరాక్స్ లేదా అమోనియంను వాడాలి.
• నాణ్యమైన తటస్థ సబ్బులు పొడి రూపంలోకాని ద్రవరూపంలో కాని ఉపయోగించాలి. కఠిన జలమైతే లైట్ డిటర్జెంట్లను వినియోగించాలి.
• సబ్బులోని మట్టిని తొలగించడానికి పట్టు వస్త్రాలను వేడి నీటిలో రెండు మూడు సార్లు జాడించాలి. చివరగా చల్లని నీటితో జాడించేటప్పుడు కొన్ని చుక్కల సిట్రిక్ యాసిడ్ లేదా ఎసిటిక్ యాసిడ్‌ను ఉపయోగించాలి.
• అనుమానపు రంగు కల పట్టు వస్త్రాలు ఉతికే ముందు 1 నుంచి 2 నిముషాలు చిటికెడు సిట్రిక్ యాసిడ్ లేదా ఎసిటిక్ యాసిడ్ కలిపిన చల్లని నీటితో తడపాలి.
• పట్టు వస్త్రాలు ఉతికిన తరువాత చేతితో సున్నితంగా పిండి తడిని తీయాలి. పట్టు చీరలను గదిలో నీడ పట్టున వేలాడ దీసి ఆరబెట్టాలి.

Tips For Washing Clothes

• ఇష్టపడి కొనుక్కున్న జీన్స్ రంగుమారకుండా ఉండాలంటే, అరబక్కెట్ నీటిలో నాలుగు టేబుల్ స్పూన్ల వెనిగర్ వేయాలి. ఈ నీటిలో దుస్తుల్ని కొద్ది సేపు నానబెట్టి ఆ తర్వాత ఉతకాలి.
• ఊలు, సిల్కు బట్టలు గోరువెచ్చటి నీటిలో పిండిన తరువాత ఒక కాటన్ టవల్లో ఉంచి రోల్ చేస్తే టవల్ వాటి తడిని పీల్చుకుంటుంది. తర్వాత ఆరేయాలి.
• ఐరన్ బాక్స్ అడుగున కొద్దిగా పారాఫిన్ రాస్తే గంజిపెట్టిన బట్టలు అతుక్కోకుండా ఉంటాయి.
• ఒక టేబుల్ స్పూను నిమ్మ చెక్కల పొడిని వాషింగ్ పౌడర్ లో కలిపి బట్టలు ఉతికితే బట్టలు తెల్లగా ఉంటాయి.
• క్లాత్ పై గమ్ అతుక్కుంటే కొద్ది సేపు ఐసుముక్కను క్లాత్ పై ఉన్న గమ్ పై ఉంచి ఆ తర్వాత గీరేస్తే గమ్ ఊడిపోతుంది.
• గోడకు కొట్టిన మేకుకి బట్టలు తగిలించి తీసేటప్పుడు హడావిడిగా లాగితే చిరిగే ప్రమాదం ఉంది. ఆ మేకులో రబ్బరు కాని, స్పాంజ్ కాని గుచ్చి ఉంచితే బట్టలు చిరగవు.
• చేతితో ఎంబ్రాయిడరీ చేసేటప్పుడూ దారపు ఉండని చిన్నకప్పులో వేసి కుట్టుకుంటే దారం ఎక్కడికో వెళ్ళటం, వెతుక్కోవటం ఉండదు.
• తుప్పుపట్టిన తీగలపై బట్టలు ఆరేసినప్పుడు లేదా బట్టలకు ఉన్న హుక్స్ తుప్పు పడితే, బట్టలకు తుప్పు మరకలు అవుతాయి. ఆ తుప్పు మరకలు పోవాలంటే మరకల మీద నిమ్మ తొక్కలతో గానీ ఉప్పు కలిపిన నిమ్మరసంతో గానీ రుద్ది ఎండలో వేయాలి.

  తెల్లని బట్టమీద కూర మరకలు పడితే ఆ మరక మీద తెల్లని టూత్ పేస్టు కొంచెం రాసి నీటిలోఉంచి తడిపి ఉతికి ఆరేస్తే మరక పోతుంది.
• తెల్లని బట్టలపైన పడిన మరకలను నిమ్మరసం వేసి నిమ్మ తొక్కతో రుద్ది తర్వాత సబ్బుతో ఉతికితే మచ్చలు మాయమవుతాయి.

• 
  
  తెల్లటి నూలు వస్త్రాలపై తుప్పుమరకలు పడితే వాటిమీద నిమ్మరసం, ఉప్పు రాసి రెండు గంటలు ఎండలో ఉంచి ఆ తర్వాత ఉతకాలి.
• నిమ్మతొక్కలతో రుద్దితే బట్టలమీద పడిన గోరింటాకు మరకలు పోతాయి.
• పేరుకున్న మురికిని వదిలించడానికి గట్టిగా బ్రష్‌తో రుద్దితే షర్టుకాలర్లు త్వరగా పాడవుతాయి. కాస్త షాంపువేసి నాననిచ్చి ఉతికి చూడండి మంచిగా వుంటాయి.
• దుప్పటి చివర్లు చినుగుతున్నట్లయితే కొత్త శాటిన్ బట్టను కొని దుప్పటి నాలుగు అంచులకు బోర్డర్‌లా వేసి కుడితే అది మళ్ళీ కొత్తదానిలా తయారవుతుంది.
• బట్టలపై సిరా మరకలు పోవాలంటే నిమ్మరసం కాని, పుల్లని పెరుగుకానీ ఆ మరకపై వేసి రుద్దండి. ఆ పైన ఉప్పుతో సిరా మరక పోయేంత వరకు రుద్ది ఉతికేయాలి.
• బట్టల్లో బొద్దింకలు చేరకుండా ఉండేందుకు కలరా ఉండలతో పాటు కర్పూరాన్ని కూడా ఉంచవచ్చు.
• బట్టలు నానబెట్టే ముందు ఆ నీళ్ళలో కాస్త వెనిగర్ ని కలిపితే బట్టలు రంగులు వెలిసి పోకుండా మెరుస్తూ ఉంటాయి.
• మీ పిల్లల వైట్ సాక్స్ బ్రౌన్ గా తయారయ్యాయా? నీటిలో రెండు లెమన్ స్లయిసెస్ వేసి ఆ నీటిలో ఈ సాక్సును వేసి నీటిలో బాయిల్ చేసి ఆ పైన ఉతకండి చాలు సాక్స్ తెల్లగా మెరిసిపోతాయి.
• మగవారి కోటు, ప్యాంటు గుండీలు సన్నటి నైలాన్ దారంతో కుడితే చాలా కాలం తెగకుండా ఉంటాయి.
• లెదర్ సోఫా పైన పిల్లలు క్రేయాన్స్ తో గీస్తే, వంటసోడా ఉప్పు కాస్త నీరు కలిపి పేస్టులా చేసి ఈ పేస్టుతో రుద్దితే మరక తొలగిపోతుంది.
